Young Girl Injured by Accidental Gunshot in New Richmond
Garnett Waitis twelve was seriously wounded when a loaded shotgun discharged while she played with it at the New Richmond home of Elmer and Palkner. Palkner said a gun part broke, he was away at a hardware store, and he did not know it was loaded. The girl was taken to Children's Hospital in Cincinnati for treatment. She is the daughter of Julie Waltis and was to be adopted by the Palkners the following week.

Six year old may be expelled over flag pledge
At Mt Carmel Glen Este school a public meeting on Friday will decide if 6 year old Joe Blomer Jr., son of Mr and Mrs Joe Blomer, is expelled for failing to salute the flag.
