Christmas Seals Mailed To 4500 In Clermont County

Christmas seals mailed by the Clermont County Tuberculosis and Health Association have reached about 4500 families and individuals in the county. The association aims for at least $5000 in sales this year, compared with $3000 last year. Enclosed return envelopes accompany the seals, sent to Mrs. Kate D Boerkle of Bata via, drive chairman. State to Construct Concrete Bridge On Routes 257 133

The Ohio State Highway Department advertises bids for a concrete bridge over Light Run on State Highway 257 between Williamsburg and Chile. The 2,500 foot structure must be completed by November 30, 1947 with unskilled labor largely supplied by the Ohio State Employment Office at Batavia.

Death of Owensville business men reported

Two Owensville business men Charles Craver and Charles Roy Woodruff died last week. Craver 66, long resident, ice cream plant operator, widow Alice Craver and brothers John and George survive. Woodruff 52, pharmacy operator, widow Mamie Woodruff and son Charles R. Woodruff survive. Services held at Monroe Funeral Home and St. Philomena Church. Burial in I. O. O. F. Cemetery Owensville.

Robert Newell 23 of New Richmond shot himself with a .22 rifle Sunday evening after a family argument. Funeral services set for Friday at Monroe Funeral Home Milford with Rev Eugene Biffle. Nine Emergency Homes for Veterans Purchased by County

Clermont County Officials approve a plan to buy nine prefabricated two bedroom apartment homes for veterans at a cost of 1 668 each FOB Dallas. The funding comes from a state emergency housing appropriation totaling 6 million with county share of 29 627. Possible locations include the County Fairground and County Home property. A countywide distribution plan is also being studied.

Nomination petitions for three three year terms on the Clermont Soil Conservation District Board are due by Friday November 29 at the district office over Batavia Post Office. In Batavia Mayor A Munden's court Claude Forsee paid $50 overdue child support and agreed to $5 weekly plus back pay. Paul Roslow fined 10 for reckless driving.
