13 Year Old Girl Accidentally Shot In Odd Car Incident

Doris Lee Sawyer of Newtonsville was seriously wounded by a shotgun blast while her father and uncle left the car. The uncle, who was driving, closed the door as a shotgun discharged, sending pellets through her right hand and into her face. She received first aid from Dr. Allan Rapp and was taken by ambulance to Mariemont Hospital, then transferred to Children’s Hospital.

Forbes Case Is Continued In Clermont County Court

In Clermont County Common Pleas Court the case State vs Alice Forbes was continued after the jury was dismissed. Forbes pleaded guilty to simple assault but not to assault and battery. Judge Harry Britton said the original indictment would stand and the case would be continued to a future date.

Charity Dance Leads to Batavia Athletic and Recreation Association

Twenty one organizations gathered at the Batavia Armory to form the Batavia Athletic and Recreation Association. William Massey was chosen president with Louis Fishback as vice president and Herbert Hogberg secretary. A representative and executive board were named, committees to be formed for baseball basketball softball recreation finance and publicity. Macy Cafe Looted in Owensville Burglary

John W. Macy reports his Owensville cafe was broken into Saturday and looted of 150 dollars in cash a new 32 Colt revolver four boxes cigars and sixty cartons of cigarettes. Glen Brake discovered the burglary the next morning after opening. Deputy Sheriff Marvin Bissantz took cash boxes to Cincinnati for fingerprint examination.
