West Clermont board trims budget pinch with state aid
West Clermont School Board met November 23 and noted state allocations will ease the 1982 budget squeeze. Treasurer Glen Lucas said the district will receive 8,445,000 from the state foundation fund, yet cuts earlier this year still bite. He cited funding declines in 1981 and modest increases in prior years, plus about 600,000 more for 1981. The board extended Superintendent Duane Tennant’s contract to July 1984 and discussed hiring practices tied to coaching turns, with about 21 teachers resigning from supplemental posts last year.
