A man made lake will provide the water and be treated to meet health standards with steel storage facilities planned.
A report details a water system for the village with 60 000 gallons supplied and pressure 40 to 45 pounds. Fire hydrants will be within 500 feet of every home, 2000 gallons inside the village, and outlying residents pay a minimum $5.34 monthly due to lack of property assessments. The lake is expected to yield about 1.5 million gallons monthly. 20 million gallons on hand would last about a year without rainfall.
Fifty farmers received certificates for top ratings in the Efficiency in Farming program during a banquet by the Clermont County Agricultural and Business Council at the D-X Ranch. A 66 to 3 vote approved continuing the program aimed at promoting known agricultural practices.
In New Richmond near Motch home Arthur Motch and family woke to a stranger wandering inside. Night patrolman Jack Hines seized the dazed man who was later identified as an escapee from Longview Hospital and sheriff Dericks was notified.
Mrs Renna Boyce of Starling Road Bethel mother of three took 10 to 12 sleeping tablets and was rushed to Brown County Hospital then transferred to Christ Hospital Cincinnati for treatment by Deputies Schwemberger and McNutt. She has recovered.
Pamela Brown 14 months died at Children's Hospital from pneumonia after a Thanksgiving accident left her chest arms and shoulder burned. Survived by parents Robert F and wife Kathy twin sister Kathy brothers Donald Robert Jr David Richard and sister Mary. Services were held at Tufts Funeral Home and burial in Union Cemetery.
Karen Brown an 11 year old student from Ander son township high school in Clermont County has advanced as a finalist in Pillsbury's Sixth Grand National Baking Contest. She will travel to New York in December for the final round with 19 other juniors and 80 seniors. Prizes total over 100000 with top senior prize of 25000. Karen will be joined by her mother Mrs James L Brown and each junior gets an accompanying escort.
Amelia village council allocates 200 to Amelia Business Association for Christmas decorations on Main Street. Har ley Clark announces the plan while Clyde Frank and Harry Thomas of the group meet with Kenneth Myrich and Harold Adams of the lighting committee to finalize the project. The association will assist with lights and other work to attract shoppers and deter local residents from downtown.
Mrs Olive McNutt wife of Deputy Sheriff Charles McNutt left Christ Hospital after Thanksgiving Day discharge following major surgery on November 11 at Bethel O. The report notes her successful recovery and home release.

Earl Eastwood 60 prominent political figure and businessman was missing from 115 Plane Street since Monday evening. He was found dead in his car Wednesday morning on Route 774 Brown County. Coroner George P. Tyler ruled death from a heart condition. Eastwood active in GOP, served as civilian officer at Wright Patterson AFB in WWII. He lectured on the Constitution for over 30 years and twice ran unsuccessfully for public office.
Williamsburg Ohio announces new minimum water rates effective January 1, more than doubling costs. The minimum charge for the first 3000 gallons rises to 4.60 dollars from 2.25 dollars due to higher water works expenses and storage facility costs.
The 1954 Census of Agriculture is over halfway complete in 24 counties under Lancaster Ohio field office. Field Supervisor John W. Thomas says enumerators receive strong cooperation from farmers and expects canvass to close by December 9. Attorney Louis S Schwartz of Felicity directs the local count.
