State treasurer figures show Clermont county residents spent less on purchases in the latest week and for the year to date. Week ending Nov 13 sales tax receipts totaled 1606.07, down from 2011.54 the previous year. Year to date receipts reached 79006.75 versus 86859.79 last year, a drop of 7853.04.

Twelve Injured In Auto Crash Near Williamsburg
Twelve people were hurt when two cars collided one mile from Williamsburg on Route 133 Sunday evening. Roy Turner and family from Bethel, including two year old Herbert, were among the injured, with several Groves children among the victims. Bethesda hospital in Cincinnati treated the most seriously injured.

Water Shortage Contributes To Fire Damage
The residence of Mrs. Dora Rybolt in Withamsville was destroyed by fire on Thanksgiving evening. The six room house, insured for about 4500 dollars, saw neighbors save part of the furniture while the Forrestville Fire department struggled with limited water supply. The cause is believed to be a short circuit in the attic.

Arrangements are made for the county-wide Prince of Peace declamation contest to be held on the first or second Sunday in December. The Ohio Council of Churches directs the event with Rev. R. L.
