Amelia Wo men's Civic Club hosts the second annual Santa Claus Bazaar at 2 p.m. on Saturday December 10 in the Mt Lookout Savings and Loan public meeting room on Main Street. Santa arrives 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Uncle Al and Captain Windy perform. Tickets prize a doll wardrobe Ponka truck set. Door prizes include electric shaver steam iron and portable mixer. Gift items and baked goods are for sale with a food booth.

Peter Hecktor of Withamsville was elected president of the Clermont Warren County Board of Realtors at their December 3 meeting at Milford Savings Association. Ison Found Guilty on Three Counts in Bribery Case

Judge Louis J. Schneider on the Clermont bench found Commissioner Ison guilty on the first three counts of bribery indictment. The fourth count was dismissed for insufficient proof. The court noted a thin line between campaign contributions and bribery and referred Ison for possible probation. Bond remains in effect.

Boy In Critical Condition After Car-Bike Mishap

George Howard Jr. 14, son of Mr and Mrs George Howard Sr of 4505 Pearl Street, remains in critical condition at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital Mariemont after a car struck him while crossing Rt 74 on a bicycle. John Retzler 34 of Oakley swerved to miss two other boys but could not avoid the collision. Howard was rushed to hospital by the North Union Township Life Squad.

County names new switchboard operator at courthouse

Mrs Myrtle Green of New Richmond is employed as switchboard operator at the courthouse by Clermont County commissioners. She succeeds Mrs Maxine Eveland of Milford, who is named assistant clerk of the board of commissioners.

December 13 Deadline For N and W On Clough Flasher

Public Utilities Commission of Ohio instructs until December 13 for N and W to respond on a flasher signal at the Clough Pike crossing in Batavia. The railroad proposed eliminating the crossing by rerouting Clough Pike along the railroad right of way to Rt. 74 west of the underpass. The request follows a deputy sheriff being seriously injured when struck by a train and notes that school buses pass this crossing several times daily.

The county schools executive heads meet with Superintendent Roy Thompson Thursday at 1 30 p m in his office. Dr J R Neill of Miami University will speak as area coordinator for the Midwest airborne television instruction program. Airborne telecasts will cover chemistry arithmetic science American history government art French music college math world history and geography.

Physician Faces Trial On Dec 13 For Abortion Charge

Dr Robert R Freund 57 of Branch Hill faces trial December 13 before Judge Harry Britton on a criminal abortion charge after the April 19 death of Beatrice Vrentas 28 in his office. Freund says he tried to save the woman and is free on 2500 bond. Attorneys John Watson Batavia and Max Dennis Wilmington will prosecute.

Blaze Destroys Barn and Corn at Owensville Farm

Fire believed caused by careless smoker destroyed a barn and corn in a metal corn crib on the Lock Haven farm at Rt 50 and McKay Road Owensville. Firemen fought the blaze and set the loss at about $6,000. The farm is owned by Milton Gatch of Milford.

No Incorporation Decision On Chile Jan 23 New Date

A motion to allow incorporation for Chile died for lack of a second as commissioners absent. The matter will be reconsidered at the January 23 meeting when Charles Hook takes office. Local residents supported and opposed the incorporation via petitions, with potential court action planned by some.
