Watering Cows Increases Milk and Butterfat Yields
Iowa State College tests show cows with constant access to water drink more, yielding 3.5 percent more milk and 10.7 percent more butterfat than cows watered only twice daily. Temperature of air, not water, chiefly affects intake. warmer weather raises drinking. Milkweed by war effort notes cover oil yields, rubber in leaves, and floss for life preservers.
