In Session. The Teachers' Institute is in full session at New Richmond this week with an able corps of instructors present and a good attendance. Each session has been arranged to have its own special interest and everything is proving very satisfactory. The people of the town are making it pleasant for the visitors during their stay. Many are driving back and forth home in autos. The instructors are able men and are popular with their audiences. Last Friday was teachers' examination for Clermont county instructors. The attendance was $2. These events only come four times a year, when in time gone by 26 were held.

Peerless Creamery Expands Plant at Batavia
The Peerless Creamery Co. enlarges its Batavia plant to 60 by 48 feet with one and a half stories. New processing lines include 3,800 gallon pasteurizers, 100 gallon starter, 8 ton ice plant, and two 30 hp boilers. Output aims for 20,000 pounds of butter weekly plus by products, creating fourteen jobs. The Cincinnati plant will relocate here, with surplus product trucked to market. Batavia welcomes the expansion and new management under W H G Rabe.

Wreck at East Batavia Leads to Damages and Arrests
W Middleton of Manchester and H Horn of Norwood collided head on in East Batavia Sunday evening at Lewis’s corner causing vehicle damage. Mrs Horn suffered a cut and bruised arm, others uninjured. Cars towed to a garage for repairs. Karl Turner of Newtown arrested on the Grant highway for speeding, pleaded guilty before Mayor Larkin, fined 25 dollars plus costs. A few arrests and fast driving will cease.

Ed Walt 76 Dies at Batavia After Illness
Ed Walt of Batavia died at his home on Thursday morning after a long illness. A brick mason by trade he lived with his wife and mother in law Mrs Ruth Crane. He is survived by his widow and a son Frank C Walt of Cincinnati. Funeral from the home Saturday afternoon with burial in Union Cemetery.

Elizabeth Frey aged eight died at her home on Brushy Fork Stonelick township after a few hours of illness from infantile paralysis. She was one of nine children of Andrew Fry. the county reported no other cases yet.

Corner Stone Laid at Milford Colored Baptist Church
The corner stone of Milford's new colored Baptist church was laid Sunday afternoon by the local lodge of colored Masons and visiting brethren. The completed structure is expected to be a town and congregation asset. John W. Nichols, 70, of Madisonville, died suddenly while fishing at Twin Bridges. He was a retired Pennsylvania Railroad engineer. His funeral was held at his home.

Funeral services planned for Mrs. Louisa Sheldon 103 of Blanchester the oldest living mother of Civil War veterans who died after a brief illness. She lived 82 years in Blanchester with granddaughter Miss Louise Austin mother of seven children all deceased. Surviving grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. This obituary notes her as one of five living mothers of Civil War veterans.

Juvenile auto thieves arrested after Batavia wreck
Rosco Goforth aged 16 of Oakley and Ralph Adams 17 of Cincinnati were arrested by Sheriff Croswell and deputies after a crash near Afton. The youths, charged with auto stealing, were identified by Carl Sentman of Williamsburg and later linked to a Cincinnati theft. They will face juvenile court as a case moves through Batavia authorities.
