Store Loot Poised by Batavia Radio and TV Break-In
Police report burglars broke into Smith's Radio and TV in Batavia during the night, stealing loot valued at 1500 dollars. Earl Smith found the store open Thursday morning, noting entry through a restroom window from an alley. Fingerprints were taken, and an automobile seen near the building at 4 a.m. is under inspection by Cincinnati police. Sheriff Dericks investigates two Laurel area break-ins, while a .22 revolver and cigarettes were taken from Olen Harris's home. Thomas Lanham, 20, and a juvenile are being held for further inquiry.

Traffic Reopens On Westbound Rt 74 From Batavia To Big Hill
Two way traffic will begin Monday on the west bound lane of new Rt 74 from the government grain storage bins west of Batavia to the beginning of the big hill cut. The second section to open will run from the old highway at the western end of the big cut to Willowville, about Sept 5.
