Kiwanians Flip Pancakes to Aid Longview Hospital
Owensville Kiwanis Club plans the Third Annual Aunt Jemima Pancake Festival in Cincinnati Garden Arena on Sept. 19 and 20 to benefit 227 children at Longview State Hospital. Proceeds target 6750 dollars with 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday service. Tickets sold by Kiwanis members include all you can eat pancakes sausage syrup coffee or milk.

Clermont County champions represented the county in the National Knothole Baseball tournament in Cincinnati. Withamsville Class B reached the finals after beating Louisville Kentucky 4-2 and Maysville 10 in the semifinals. Cottage AC of Newport Kentucky shut out Williamsville 21-0. Mt Carmel Class A beat Manchester 6-1 but fell to Clay West Virginia 9-2. Holy Cross of Boone County Kentucky defeated Mt Carmel C 14-1.

Driver 19 Given Maximum Sentence In Williamsburg
Ralph Darius Combs, 19, of Rt. 2 Batavia, was found guilty of reckless driving in Williamsburg and given the maximum sentence. Mayor Danbury fined him 100 dollars plus 7.80 costs and ordered 10 days in jail and banishment from Williamsburg. Police Chief Robert Vice noted this was his third traffic violation in under a year and that Combs fled from officers after speeding 80 to 85 mph on Rt. 74 and through Williams burg streets.

Clermont County records the eighteenth traffic fatality of the year as Arlin Elam 49 of Cozaddale driven car left Rt 132 hit a tree dying from skull fracture and chest injuries.
