Glen Este Scientist Takes Vienna Post

Edward W. Wiederhold, son of C C Wiederhold of Glen Este, has accepted a two year staff appointment with the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna. The Ohio State University graduate has over 18 years in water pollution, industrial waste management, cytogenics and atomic energy related R D. He has worked as senior research chemist for Monsanto and earlier as a research engineer for the AEC at Los Alamos.

Bethel Tate Board Seeks Levy Renewal And Staffing Moves

The Bethel Tate School District will place a renewal operating levy of 5.7 mills on the November ballot, down from 6.3 due to reassessment, funding similar capacity as the previous levy. The board accepted resignations from four teachers and announced new faculty appointments, leaves, and a reassignment. Vacancies remain for industrial arts, science, and mathematics at the junior high as work on a water line at the school concludes.

Juvenile Court Staff To Attend State Seminar

Seven members of Clermont County Juvenile Court staff will attend the Fourth Annual Probation Development Seminar in Columbus on August 13. Led by Chief Probation Officer Gilbert R. Dale, the group includes Richard Roberts Joseph Quallen Mary Schlosser and others. The seminar features panels on Maximum use of Community Service and Probation Practical Techniques. Judge Charles W. Jackson notes the event shows court and Ohio Youth Commission cooperation and supports on the job training for staff.

Hearing on CAC Set for Sept 4 in Clermont

County Commissioners schedule a public hearing at 10 a.m. on September 4 to designate a Community Action agency for Clermont. A tentative decision would keep the current agency structure, announced in a legal notice. The hearing will be in Batavia's Courthouse Annex I large conference room on Main Street.

Verdict Favors Defendant In Fatal Mishap

A jury in Judge Harold D Nichols Common Pleas Court ruled for the defendant in a 112125 suit by William Chambers Batavia for the alleged wrongful death of his wife Leona in a traffic crash. Leona died hours after the Oct 20 1965 collision with a Clermont County highway department truck driven by Albert R Lanham of New Richmond. Their daughter Willa then three suffered a forehead laceration and concussion. The crash happened on a sharp curve on SR 222 eleven miles north of SR 132. Lanham and two county highway department coworkers were uninjured. Defense testimony said Lanham stopped with front wheels off the road. Attorneys listed.

Collector Cuts Delinquencies on Real Estate

Clermont County Treasurer Byron Ross reports real estate tax delinquencies improved this year with total collections of 8 million 620 562 dollars. 4 145 630 dollars paid in during the second half. Delinquent taxes including interest and penalties stand at 840 000 dollars, down from 824 834 last year, and foreclosures aided recovery.

Lebanon Lad Dedicates Clermont County Airport

George Stanley, 19, of Lebanon piloted the first plane to use the Clermont County Airport still under construction. He landed at dusk after dusk fell, later calling Lebanon Airport as his destination and his father Cedric A. Stanley rushed to the scene to pick him up. The pilot noted from the air the strip looked finished. He returned by plane on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
