The Batavia Board of Education will meet Wednesday September 11 in the high school conference room. The New Richmond Board of Education will hold their regular meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday September 16 in New Richmond High School. The meeting was originally scheduled for September 9.

Seek PUC Approval For Burg Bethel Area Phone Survey

The company sent a PUCO permit request on August 23 to canvass Williamsburg and Bethel area customers. Pending PUCO objections, surveys target fall with a 60 percent minimum support for EAS service. Introduction of EAS slated for late 1970 with toll free calls across the region.

Memorial Plan for Park in Milford Ohio Veterans Memorial Upgrade

Milford residents learn of a renovation plan for Memorial Park in downtown Milford Ohio. The Mayor's Committee proposes two plaques flanking the World War I memorial to honor Korean and Vietnam veterans, new lighting, fountain and fence repairs, refreshed benches, and new trash cans. George W. Monroe 71, longtime Milford funeral home owner, died Monday at Mercy hospital after a lengthy illness. He held civic roles including Milford school board and Home Savings director, and was a WWI veteran. Survived by wife Elsie, a son, a daughter, a sister, a brother, and seven grandchildren. Burial at Greenlawn cemetery.

Rapps Purchase of Race Bowl Property in Cincinnati

Francis and Martha Rapp of Amelia have bought 46 acres and buildings of the Greater Cincinnati Race Bowl on Tealtown Road from Howard Bruns and Don Stamler. Two Die in Clermont County Holiday Auto Crashes

Two youths died and several others were injured in Clermont County traffic incidents over the holiday weekend. Gary E. Parker, 15, died at Christ Hospital after a car driven by Cecil C. Parker, 16, wrecked on O’Banionville Road north of Loveland. The driver and four others were hospitalized. Five year old Ronny S. Nolan, son of Mr and Mrs James E. Nolan of Forestville, was killed at 9 p.m. Services were planned at Forestville Baptist Church with funeral arrangements by T. P. White & Sons. Burial followed at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Surviving relatives include siblings and extended grandparents.

State official outlines Main St. Bridge project plan

Batavia held a public hearing on reconstructing the Main Street Bridge over the East Fork of the Little Miami. State Highway Department official Robert Bevis said the bridge will be widened to four lanes with new beams and a concrete deck, costing about 188000 dollars, while traffic runs on one lane during construction. The village pays 1000 dollars on approaches and the county covers 25 percent. a temporary bridge was deemed too costly.
