Attendants from the Clermont County Sportsmen’s tent at the county fair cared for a month-old possum after a mother was killed jay walking near Owenville. Don Feagan and Pete Palan fed the young marsupial with a medicine dropper while nine orphans reached the tent. drivers delivered them hoping to find homes, some planned with litters of kittens. The caretakers warned mothers that the young might lack hair on their tails and may hang by it.

Twenty five years ago Lafe Powell of Mulberry was rendered unconscious when a rock truck he drove collapsed a bridge over Red Bird Hollow on the road to Mt. Carmel. The rear of the nearly 50 foot bridge sank as the front wheels stayed on the road. Powell was revived and returned to work.

Rain cut attendance at the Clermont County Fair last week while favorable weather drew a large crowd. Races were rained out Thursday and Friday but exhibits improved over last year. Mosbacker to Return Home for Discharge
Albert P.
