Mullen Found After Kidnap Near Williamsburg
Harvey Mullen, who vanished during the Owensville Fair amid Gypsy rumors, was located last Friday near Williamsburg and returned home with his father. Earlier searches described a large Gypsy camp and ongoing efforts to locate him, with reports placing the suspects toward Georgetown and possibly crossing into Kentucky. Quince Hobbs Captured After Standoff with Officials
Adams resident Quince W Hobbs eluded sheriff John Rapp and deputy R D Gallagher for months on charges of obtaining money under false pretenses. Saturday night he was located near Bantam fair grounds and after a chase he surrendered on the home lawn. He awaits a hearing in jail. Pedestals on Main Street in Batavia, erected by Kidd and Reynolds, stand three feet at the base and four feet high housing an electric light, reducing speeding and promoting safer streets.

Deputy Gallagher and four others raided a Brazier area farm Friday and seized a 60 gallon twin still, 15 gallons of whisky, and eight barrels of mash. Frank Reeber, who had left for Cincinnati, was later arrested. Reeber faced fines totaling 1 200 after pleading guilty. Pony Cianciafara received a subsequent hearing before Mayor Ross.
