State to Improve Bridge on U. S. 52

NEW RICHMOND O The State Highway Department announced Tuesday that the bridge two miles west of here on U S 52 will be improved as part of its program to give the Pike County Atomic Energy Center adequate roads.

Rat Tries to Eat Hand of Little Girl

In Batavia New York, an 11 month old daughter of Mr and Mrs Roy Hartman was bitten when a rat sunk its teeth through her finger and began to eat her left palm as she slept in a crib. Parents heard cries as the animal entered via newly installed plumbing. The child was taken to Mt Washington for treatment. Health Commissioner F M Opined for tables. Hospital Survey Completed for Clermont County

Dr. A C Bachmeyer and auditor Farle Kincaid reported that Clermont County completed a hospital survey. The commissioners employed the doctor to assess need and type of hospital for the county with plans to place funds and start work, aiming for November.

Clermont County water meeting set for next Friday

Clermont County Commissioners invite residents of Pierce Union and Batavia townships to a public meeting at the Withamsville Tabasco school at 8 p m September 5 to discuss the proposed water system for the area. Nause Receives 20 Year Sentence For Fatal Beating

Carl Nause of Newtonsville was sentenced by Judge Harry Britton in Common Pleas Court to 20 years for first degree murder in the fatal beating of Jack Dexter last June 17 near Loveland. Prosecutors and defense praised the jury and counsel amid the deliberations.

Milford Crash Injures Five People Five Hurt One Seriously

Five persons were injured when their car ran off Woodville Road near the Dunbar residence and overturned in a ditch. One occupant was seriously hurt with severe cuts to the left ear and neck. All others from Cincinnati were treated and released. The injured were taken to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital by Monroe ambulance.

Sanitation Rating Set at 85 Percent For County Fair

The Ohio State Department of Food and Dairies says Owensville County Fair earned an 85 percent sanitation score despite bad weather. The rating covered purity of food, health certificates for handlers, waste storage and disposal, posted prices, and overall booth sanitation. Exhibitors and booths were inspected multiple times daily over four days.
