Ohio Bids Sought for U S 52 and Route 132 Work

Sealed proposals due by 10 a.m. September 1 at the Ohio Department of Highways in Columbus for highway projects in Clermont and neighboring counties. Clermont offers two parts as one contract. Part 1 resurfaces 14.62 miles of U S 52 in Monroe and Washington townships with asphaltic concrete. Part 2 covers resurfacing with asphalt in Salvisa? and Satavia townships.

County to Hear Annexation Plea for Owensville Tract

County commissioners set October 2 for a hearing on annexing a one acre site at Route 276 and Route 132 to Owensville. The tract joins a recently annexed parcel. Petitioners include Arthur Hill Batavia postmaster secretary Frank Murphy Jr and Frank Schubert. A new building is planned on the land.

Workshop For Bus Drivers Draws 175

Bethel Clermont County school bus drivers attended the Clermont County transportation workshop drawing 175 participants. The event, sponsored by Bethel Tate and county boards with the State Highway Patrol, featured demonstrations by Patrolman Morse and other officials. The session aimed to reinforce safe bus operation ahead of fall inspections across multiple districts.

Democrats To Meet At Batavia Township Club

Democrats will meet September 2 at 8 p m at the Colonel for Sheriff campaign headquarters to discuss the upcoming election. A fund may be raised at Anelia State Bank to aid hospital expenses. Donations of cloud are requested and transportation for volunteers may be arranged by contacting Mrs Shivner at Mary Jean's Beauty Shop. In Goshen, Hiram Gunter, 20, sustained multiple lacerations and a possible back injury when his water truck ran off Goshen Road and overturned, pinning him for 15 minutes before crew extricated him and transported him to Our Lady of Life.”

Council Assures Water and Sewers to Industrial Tract
