Former Batavian Resident W N Nichols Dies in Los Angeles
Mr W N Nichols long associated with Kline's Grocery in Batavia died August 11 after five months of illness. He moved to Los Angeles 27 years ago and enjoyed good health before his decline. Services were held Wednesday at Inglewood Cemetery where he was laid to rest. Survived by his widow, one son Dr L Nichols, and two granddaughters. He often recalled his Ohio hometown with affection.

Tragedy on N and W Tracks Near Williamsburg
Ed Vaughn and his family were struck by a westbound local freight at Williamsburg crossing the N and W tracks at 1 p m Tuesday. Mrs Vaughn was killed, Ed Vaughn injured internally, their 12 year old daughter escaped harm. J Yenae Maham assisted with the injured and dead at the scene.

He and Rose celebrated their fiftieth anniversary March 17 leaving a son Frederick and granddaughter Katherine Marie with brother Ernst Allen of Los Angeles. Farm Husbandman William M. Brown Remembered in Obituary Card
William M. Brown spent over six decades on his family farm near Batavia living a life of steady labor and adherence to Methodist and R of P Lodge affiliations.
