Postoffice Robbed at Mt. Holly in Midnight Break In
Burglars entered the Mt. Holly post office last Wednesday night and stole twenty one dollars and ninety cents from the safe along with auto tires and cigars. Postmaster Olin Fagin and his wife were asleep when the entry occurred. Sheriff Roberts and Deputy Meinken investigated but no clue was found. The theft happened after midnight as the couple retired.

Murder Trials Set Drawn in Batavia September
Two murder trials are scheduled in Batavia for September. State of Ohio vs Bird Sharp of Goshen faces a first degree murder charge in the Sweeny case with 75 jurors drawn. State of Ohio vs William Henderson Boshear of Cincinnati, for the Spencer killing, has a September 15 date and a separate 75-name jury pool. Batavian Passes After Months of Illness
Will Brown born and raised on the Brown homestead below Batavia died Sunday evening after a monthslong illness. He was a son of J. L. Brown and a successful county farmer, a member of the K of P lodge, and well regarded. Survived by widow Emma Burger Brown, a brother, and four sisters. Funeral from his residence Wednesday at 2 pm with burial at Milford.

County School Buses Require State Drivers Licenses
Inquiries on bus operations for the coming year prompt that all bus drivers must hold a driver’s certificate from the Ohio Department of State. Examinations may be taken under E. B. Jones in Milford or Joseph Williams in New Richmond. Ages 16 to 21 may drive with certification. those 16 to 18 must be in high school.
