The Armstrong family, two hemophiliacs, is short 750 units of blood. The Southern Clermont Motorcycle Club sponsors a blood drive from 3 to 9 p.m. Aug. 26 at Grant Memorial to support the family and hospital.
Mickey Milton speaking for the SCC urged help for a local family through a blood drive led by Legion Post 405 Bethel Life Squad Police Department Safety Unit and the State Highway Patrol Mt. Carmel Post. The Williamsburg Band Boosters will hold a regular meeting Aug. 31 in the band room at 8 p.m. All band and drill team parents are urged to attend.
Clermont County Knothole closes 1971 with champions Willowville Lions Class C Sr. and Willowville Tigers Jr. The Amelia Mustangs win Class D Sr. runners up Amelia Rams. Milford Colts and Milford Reds notable in assisted teams. Four former county Knothole players compete in national championships.
Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Youth Fellowship spent the first week of August camping at Cave Lake Park Hillsboro. Counselors included Mr and Mrs Ken Perry and Mrs Artie Light. Danny Light led devotions as boating swimming and hiking occupied the group with several families noted among participants.
The Clermont County YWCA Senior Citizen Center in Williamsburg will move meetings from Monday to Tuesday starting Sept. 6. The center, opened in April at Williamsburg Methodist Church, now has 54 members and serves residents 60 and older. Meetings run 10 a.m. to 2 30 p.m.
A reading conference led by Dr. Donald Edwards of Miami University is scheduled August 26 from 3 30 to 8 30 p m at the Mt. Orab Elementary School as part of the Right to Read workshops joint sponsored by Brown and Clermont County Boards of Education and Area 12 Commission. The group visited Serpent Mound and Fort Hill and assisted with a church revival August 16 27. Attendees include many local residents and families listed in attendance.
The Williamsburg Village Board of Zoning will hold a public hearing September 4 at 10 am in the mayor's office on Main Street. Milton E. and Marcia J. Courts seek a special exception to erect an 11 family apartment building at Spring and High.
