EEA Funds To Ease Area Unemployment

County Commissioners filed for the grant after a briefing from Commissioner Ralph Houser and Food Stamp Director Harold Krempien. The plan includes 10 percent in kind county services and aims to place at least 45 new workers on public service payrolls over the next year. Veterans of Viet Nam or Korea who are unemployed will receive priority, with rules that workers must be unemployed for at least one week and county rehires for at least 30 days.

Bridge Replacement Approved for US 50B Relocation

The Ohio Department of Highways approved relocating a 0.4 mile portion of US 50B and replacing the Little Miami River bridge, with a public hearing held at Miamiville on July 13. Vacation of the bypassed section was included. Construction date remains undetermined.
