Paul M. Blocher 36 a Batavia druggist sustained serious injuries after his car skidded on a wet Davis Hill on Route 132. The vehicle vaulted a culvert and rolled 70 feet. He remained conscious and was treated at Dr Skeen’s office before being moved to Christ Hospital.

Clermont County Farmers to Receive Additional Fertilizer Stockpile

Edward C. Saxton reports 14 000 tons of fertilizer distributed via the 3-A Conservation Materials Program with Clermont County receiving 500 tons. An extra 800 tons will be available this fall for participating farmers as part of a 15 000 ton statewide addition through Jan 1 1948. Farmers may order now and receive credit for 1943 materials. fertilizer usable on most fields except small grain seedings.

Glermont Auto Fatalities Climb After Tragic Crash

In Clermont County a Sunday evening crash on Route 52 near Point Pleasant killed 42 year old Lee Huron of Cincinnati as his car struck a truck. His wife sustained severe head injuries and was taken to a Cincinnati hospital. The truck driver Richard Carpenter of Mays Lick escaped injury. Deputy Sheriff Joe Colonel reported the victim appeared blinded by truck lights and rammed the rear of the oncoming vehicle. Coroner Sam White confirmed decapitation and instantaneous death.
