Life Sentence for West Union Jail Break Expert
Ray Kline alias Ray Newman known for escapes from Hillsboro and West Union received a life term at the Ohio Penitentiary after conviction in West Union for January burglary at Charles Berry’s home near Peebles. He was moved to the penitentiary by Sheriff White.

Point Pleasant School House Burns In Fire
The school house at Point Pleasant was destroyed by fire Wednesday night after the bucket brigade failed. It stood on a high point with a long stairway of about 180 steps and overlooked the town and river. Valued at $1000 with small insurance, a modern building will replace it. Miss Zella Galbreath will teach. schools will open in a town room. This is General Grant's birthplace.
