Virgil Taylor, 57, of Manilla, and his wife Margaret, 55, died within 14 hours of each other after their car struck a tree on the Batavia Owensville highway near the William Brodie place. Their 13-year-old son Paul was uninjured.

The second annual Junior Fair during Clermont County Fair week drew 1 500 attendees and showcased 4-H clubs 74 advisors two Girl Scout troops two Boy Scout troops and three Vocational Home Economics and Agricultural departments. County fair draws huge crowds as Clermont Grange wins
The 90th Clermont county fair ended with record crowds across sessions. Awards were given in cattle judging, junior fair, and Grange contests. Bethel Grange won the Grange booth contest, with prizes awarded in cattle, hogs, sheep, and 4-H demonstrations. Directors and officers were elected for three-year terms.
