Father shot by son in Batavia tragedy

Frank Liebermann, a German farmer near Batavia, died after being shot in his home by his son Gus. The incident occurred Friday night. Gus fled and sheriff Rapp led a wide search with Cincinnati police and detectives. An inquest was held, the weapon reloaded, and the case hinges on Gus’s location. Frank Liebermann was buried Sunday in Batavia.

Adams County Band to perform at State Fair

Miller to Lead Campaign Team for Carmi Thompson

Clermonters Succeed in Moving Tobacco Warehouse

Fred Constant and J McKinley of Franklin township arranged the transfer of a large steel tobacco receiving warehouse to Felicity Ky. The building is dismantlable and will be rebuilt at the new site. Transportation costs will be repaid with interest. The move places the facility in the center of the tobacco growing district for convenient use.

Sheriff Rapp Keeps Batavia Safe At Boston Fair

Sheriff John B. Rapp of Batavia stayed on the job at a Boston fair where he dispersed a crowd ready to lynch a colored man after rumors of a white assault. He also mobilized Batavia police and Cincinnati detectives in a Frank Lieberman murder case, aiding searches and monitoring key areas.

Temporary school room for Olive Branch children

Clermont County Club Week winners head to Ohio State University

Nine Clermont county youths will travel to Columbus for Club Week at Ohio State University in November, funded by the County Fair Board and County Farm Bureau. Winners include Dale Dean and Dale Bee of Bethel, William Mefford of Batavia, George Musgrove of Williamsburg, and others in calf pig and clothing clubs. The event expands from Farmers Week to a dedicated Club Week due to large attendance.
