Proprietors Tom Roe and Ken Rose open the Shell Ranch Service Center on Main and Chapel Streets. The new facility offers full fuel and lubrication service, minor repairs, wheel balancing, tuneups, and a line of Goodyear tires and accessories. Sesqui Centennial Seeks Theme and Seal Contests

The Sesqui Centennial Committee invites entries for a theme and official seal for Batavia’s 150th anniversary celebration. Winners receive two twenty-five dollar bonds. An executive meeting will set a financial plan for July 1964 festivities at Batavia Municipal Building on August 27 at 8 p.m.

Children Plan MD Carnival at Clough Heights

A muscular dystrophy Kiddie Carnival is set for Saturday August 24 from 2 to 5 p.m. on Riddle Road off upper Clough Pike with games elephant sales and home baked goods. Humane Society booth boosts county fair outreach

Milford school band members Linda Heslar Suzana Livin good Mary Ann Stroup and Teresa Sheldon helped at the Clermont County Humane Society booth at the fair last Thursday. The exhibit drew thousands of animal admirers to learn about the society and recruit new members as the SPCA marks over five years in existence but first county fair representation.

Police Investigate Drugstore Burglary In Milford

Milford police probe a burglary at Johnson's Drugs on Baker Drive after thieves cut a hole in the roof and stole money from a drawer. Three juveniles were later apprehended for breaking into Town and Country Distributors on Main Street Sunday night.

Monjar Named Amway Distributor in Milford

Milford report states Amway Sales Corporation appointed Donald M. Monjar of 1330 Goshen Pike as a distributor of Amway products. He will market home care items including a biodegradable liquid cleaning concentrate designed not to contaminate water supplies. Amway's home offices and plant are in Michigan.

Florea Named Associate Of The Year By Clermont Board

James W. Florea, Milford real estate associate with Donald R. Florea, is named Associate of the Year for 1963 by the Clermont Warren County Board of Realtors. He began in real estate at 21 and posted 1962 area transactions over half a million dollars. Florea, OSU graduate in real estate and business, is married to Carrolyn with children John and Kathy and serves in local civic groups and alumni boards.

Clermont and Warren County teachers of practical electricity attended a summer workshop at Clermont North eastern School Owensville. The highlight was building Electrical Demonstration Boards to teach safety wiring needs fusing and practical electricity for home farm or business. Draped Car Serves As Makeshift Maternity Ward

On Main Street Milford a car draped in sheets provided privacy as Shirley Eisemann gave birth en route from Goshen to Bethesda Hospital. Dr James McMillan delivered the baby before Milford Life Squad arrived. mother and infant were taken to Our Lady of Mercy and then Bethesda for admission. The family lives at 2039 Cedarville Road, Goshen.

County Commissioners Allocate 1111 To Sheriff and More

Sheriff Clyde Dericks sought funds beyond his 518 dollar budget for jail operations equipment and stationery, and commissioners approved 1111. They noted highway patrol handled most accidents for 18 months and will ask the State Highway Department to study the Goshen intersection at Routes 32 and 28. They moved to levy collection on 90 day or more delinquent water bills and reaffirmed in principle the private operation of housing sanitary facilities under the Public Utilities Commission. Health officials approved plans for Witham Woods treatment plant serving Southern Ohio Utility and Clermont County. The board offered 625 for training four county children attending Pleasant Plain school for the retarded.
