On Sunday August 16 1914 the Universalist church of Mt Carmel celebrated fifty years with all day services former pastors attended including Rev Marion Crosley aged 77 who preached the morning sermon. A noon dinner at Grange Hall and an afternoon program followed with Rev W M Backus Rev O C Colgrove and Mr Clarke. Miss Rose Day read a history of the church and eight members who attended the dedication were remembered. The day ended with remarks on the church continuing its good work.
