Thousands of Clermont Countians visit Owensville for the 91st Clermont County Fair day one. Gates opened at 7:30 AM drawing visitors from Ohio Indiana and Kentucky amid banners balloons and crowds touring exhibits and stalls. The program outlines livestock judging band concert and daily horse and pony shows with races and parades planned through Friday.

A Nicholsonville grocery and furniture store owned by Fred, valued at about $1200, burned Sunday night around 10. With no insurance, the Bethel Fire Department could not save the two room building due to inadequate water supply and advanced fire. Royed the Orville Sipple store in town, Sipple and his wife were attending a show at Bethel when the fire started. They lost stock and furniture as a result.

Walter Willis Rites Held At Bethel church
The funeral of Walter Willis was held at the Christian Church Bethel on Monday afternoon conducted by Rev J C Sabestian of Cincinnati. Willis served six years with the Norwood Fire Department and twenty years on the police force. He leaves a widow Mrs Eulie Willis a half brother James Nichols and brothers Charles Willis and Harry Willis. Burial in Bethel cemetery.

Final plans outline the Calvary Methodist Church centennial and Washington county Sunday schools reunion set for Saturday August 19 at Preston's Grove near here. Fifteen area churches expected, with a stage in the woods and a public address system.
