The Clermont County Teachers Institute continues with lectures on arithmetic grammar and literature. Dozens of teachers and many guests attend sessions daily through Friday with exams, new constitution discussions, and evening entertainments.
The Hulick and Weaver families held their twenty first annual reunion at Boston Fair grounds Clermont county with about twelve hundred attendees. The day featured speeches songs and readings from descendants of pioneers Abram Hulick Let Hulick John Hulick and the Weavers with music by Batavia orchestra and performances by the Batavia quartet. Honors gave thanks to organizers and several members were named honorary and officers elected for the next year. Uncle Dickey Richard Mace the county’s oldest pioneer died at 93 in Bethel.
A telegram from Rev. Page says he will arrive in Batavia on Friday and conduct services at the M. E. church next Sunday morning at the usual hour. He will be gladfully welcomed by the congregation.

William Wessel a local grocer backed his wagon into the canal from the Main Street bridge in Cincinnati last Saturday. A lightened team caused the accident leaving a detached wagon and a load of wet groceries unsellable.
Jonah Merritt, 70, of Newtown, appeared before U S Commissioner Hooper on a charge of sending an improper letter through the mails to Lizzie Diehl. He was bound over to the grand jury in $750 bond.
The management of the Cincinnati Lebanon and Northern railroad aims to run standard gauge cars over the road by the first of September. Lebanon is praised as one of Ohio’s finest model small cities and a standard gauge town.
Jack Whalen, a popular B. & O. 8. W. employee, was struck and killed by a switch engine in the stock yards last Wednesday morning. The Loveland native, 28, leaves a wife and two children. remains sent to Loveland for funeral and interment at Murdock.

Three weeks past a cow on Rice Perkins farm gave birth to a calf. The feeble survivor was discovered last Sunday morning in a fence corner. The mother likely abandoned the calf, leaving it to perish.
Grand Army authorities patent a new Grand Army badge and ban street fakirs from selling it. Each badge bears a number and registration, with a knapsack camp kettle and campfire on the reverse. Unauthorized wearing incurs penalties, including dismissed members, and old badges will be recalled.
