Robertson Steel and Iron Co of Cincinnati will build a 42,000 square foot facility on a one acre tract near Batavia western limits, employing 50 people. The firm aims to occupy by December 31 and will route water by September 15 pending sewer plans.

Grand Jury drops charges against Dr Germann in Clermont count

Clermont County Grand Jury ended its two day session by dismissing armed robbery charges against Dr Paul N Germann owner of Sky U Recreation Park near Amelia The decision came amid broader eliminations including a libel suit and license charge and a pending matters agreement to drop all cases between Germann and the County Board of Health in county and common pleas court also saw multiple indictments in other matters including a manslaughter reduction and the arrest of Dorothy Truax on bad checks charges plus a string of break ins and theft related indictments across several towns

Clermont County Fair opens with five day slate Aug 18 22

The 115th Clermont County Fair in Owensville runs August 18 through 22 with gates at 9 am. Highlights include Grange exhibits at 10 am opening day, 4H Horse Show at 1 pm, Paul Bunyan Canadian Show at 8 pm, plus judging of rabbits beef cattle poultry and 4H exhibits on subsequent days.

Batavia Board Names Lahmann School Issue Committee Head

William Lahmann, 39, was elected chairman of the Committee For School Issues by the Batavia Board of Education. A Batavian since 1961, Lahmann is active in school and civic affairs and is a former Northeastern Board of Education member. A public meeting is set for Aug 18 and Sept 2 to discuss the bond issue and operating levy.

One Day County Fire School Slated August 30

A one day county fire school for Clermont County fire departments will run 8 a.m. to 4 30 p.m. August 30 at Glen Este High School. North Union township fire department hosts the event with Clermont County Firemen’s Association leading efforts alongside the State Trade and Industrial Education Service and Ohio Department of Education in cooperation with West Clermont School District. Instructors include Peter M. Weron Cincinnati on firemanship Leon Hughes Norwood on pumps and hose layouts Harry Hague III Wilmington on indirect application of water and Edward F. Gassett Evendale during the noon break.

Northeastern Board Approves 752200 Budget in Special Session

The Clermont Northeastern Board of Education approved a 752 200 budget for the coming school year in a special session on Aug 5. The plan shows 1965 estimates for administration instruction transportation and operation of the school plant, with bond retirement totaling 54 708 75, and notes vacancies for three elementary teaching positions a librarian and an industrial arts post at the high school. The board also approved staff contracts and sales of old desks to create more storage at elementary buildings in Owensville Marathon and Newtonsville.

The Clermont County Board of Health declares the first Thursday of each month as regular meeting night starting September.
