Boy Drowns at Rotary Camp in Highland Park
Charles Grubers, 12, of Cincinnati, vacationing at Rotary Camp, drowned in the Highland Park lake Saturday night. Sheriff deputies recovered the body Monday morning. Coroner Curliss ordered a postmortem. He resided at 2278 Rice Street, Cincinnati.

Hen thefts and restaurant robbery puzzle in West Batavia
Last Thursday night a restaurant owned by Cliff Weaver was robbed in West Batavia and 160 hens were stolen from Henry Ostholtoff who lives nearby on the railroad. Police say both crimes may be linked but no clues have been found.

Sheriff raid nets whisky and illegal still near County Home

Miraculous Escape on Snow Island Boat Ride
Russell Speidel his wife Anna Virginia and sister survived a float and fire when a gasoline tank exploded halfway across Cedarville Gulf on Snow Island Michigan. The boat burned and sunk but all escaped. cushions served as life preservers and a passing boat rescued them. Estimated loss stands at 1000 dollars. Eli Speidel was away in Michigan at the time.
