Motorcycle races sanctioned by the American Motorcycle Association include a three mile race and multiple five and eight mile events. night program with lights, drum corps, boxing, and a grand fireworks finale. Batavia resident Orville W. Halbisch was among 41 percent of 617 law students who passed the Ohio State Bar Examination given in Columbus on June 30 and July 1 and 2. The statewide results showed 860 failures and 267 passes. Halbisch, a 11 year Batavia worker and former court stenographer, recently graduated from the YMCA Night Law School.

Long and useful life of Batavia Ohio native Captain Frank White who served in the 59th O. W. IL and 9th O. V. I. He settled in Batavia after a mercantile career, led Clermont Sun boards, and earned deep local esteem for honesty and service. He died August 9, 1931, aged 93.

The County Dog Race Track at Clermont Fox Farm about 18 miles from Cincinnati is under construction with 40 workers. Grading and building progress, with racing promised in two weeks, at an approx 40000 dollar cost. The grand stand will hold 5000 spectators. The American Legions disavow any involvement with the project.

Judge to hear motion on Clermont dog racing ban

Welfare Board Cuts Weekly Allowance For Children
The new County Welfare Board reduced the child care grant from $4.00 to $3.50 weekly citing cheaper provisions and scarce funds. About 70 children are cared for. a waiting list of 30 exists. State Aid Distributes $545,900 to 336 Districts in Ohio
State department of education completed a first distribution of 545900 in state aid funds to 336 school districts delayed since last April due to finances.
