Auto Wreck Below Amelia Heads On July Throng
Two cars collided on Grant Highway below Amelia on Thursday afternoon. Emma Listomb and Marguerite Hahn, traveling from Cincinnati to Batavia toward Williamsburg, were injured. Listomb suffered a dislocated ankle and missing teeth, Hahn had cuts needing numerous stitches. John Craig of Cincinnati was knocked senseless but revived and returned home. Dr. Mott gave first aid to the women and Dr. Behymer treated Craig.

Lose sight of eye after mule incident near Brown County
Batavia town farmer David Geesner lost sight in one eye last week when guiding a young team of mules home from Brown County. A rope around his hand prevented release as he fell, a mule stepped on his head, the eyeball burst, and he was hospitalized after medical help at Marathon. He is reported to be recovering.
