In Batavia, W. W. Dennison tends 106 tomato plants in a center town patch. Staked plants reach four to twelve feet with heavy fruit, and he expects to harvest about 100 bushes from a 12 by 86 foot plot. Henry K. Johnson former member of Johnson Bros Batavia long resident of Hillsboro and Washington D C died last week after months of ill health. He leaves several brothers and two sisters. Remains were brought to his brother Jonathan in Monterey for viewing and funeral services were held Saturday. Burial followed in Owensville cemetery.

Young Robbers Caught in Camp Safe Theft
Two Norwood youths Kennedy and Massy, both 16, tried to rob a safe at Chas Hitzing’s Remington camp Tuesday afternoon. They were caught in the act. Marshal John Parker sent them to the Mayor’s office. They were bound over to the Juvenile Court at Batavia.
