The state auditor’s office distributed 21.13 million dollars collected as taxes on deposits and capital from financial institutions to Ohio county auditors. Route 1 resident wins Ohio State Pipefitting Contest

Fire Damages Marathon Home
An estimated eight dollars in damage occurred to the seven room frame home of Mrs. Louise Plummer on State Route 50 Marathon. The occupants included Mrs. Plummer, Mr. and Mrs. Mullins and two children aged two and three. Fire crews from Fayetteville and Williams burg fought the blaze and a neighbor helped Mrs. Plummer down a window ladder. The fire origin remains undetermined with play with matches a possible cause. the state fire marshal will investigate. Insurance coverage is six thousand dollars with a normal amount on its contents.

Rites Held For Traffic Victim In Edenton
NEWTONSVILLE D C Robert Lee Hutchinson 11 of Edenton was killed when struck by a car on State Route 131. The auto driven by Warren B Hammond 34 of Fayetteville skidded and overturned after Hutchinson swerved into the road. He lived with his grandparents and is survived by a brother. Services were held at Hannah funeral home Blanchester with burial in Alexandria Kentucky. Eugene Patterson of Coraddale charged with assault and weapon use. Rita Probasco resigns as Clermont County home demonstration agent effective September 1 to marry and move to New Mexico. An interview panel will select a replacement to avoid service lapse.

Bicycle Rider Struck By Auto Near Bethel
Carolyn Ward, 11, of Bethel Route 1, suffered body bruises and a left knee injury Thursday afternoon on State Route 125 near Spring Grove when struck by an auto. No charges were placed against the driver. George Halse, 72, Bethel Route 2, was involved as reported by Deputy Frank Hutchinson and State Patrolman G. C. Fischer after investigation.
