Blind Broom Maker Shows Craft at Clermont County Fair
Ted Davis, blind broom maker from Mt. Carmel, will again operate a mobile workshop at the Clermont County Fair booth. Sponsored by the Fair Board, Batavia Rotary Club, and The Clermont Courier, the display demonstrates broom making and features mops, whisk brooms, and antique chair caning. Davis, aided by Rotary volunteers, travels to the fair year after year, selling out his hand made stock and engaging spectators.

101st County Fair Opens Next Wednesday
The 101st County Fair will open in Owensville next August 16 with new features. A 4 tractor rodeo at noon Wednesday and WLW Midwestern Hay ride at 8 p m Wednesday evening. Racing program at 2 15 daily Thursday through Saturday and a horse show at 7 p m Thursday Friday and Saturday. Registrations are coming in to J W Evans Fair secretary for departments. Auto show farm machinery and numerous displays, midway attractions and other features.

County Hunters Fail to Bag Mountain Lion
Clermont County hunters divided into groups from Batavia and sought a mountain lion from Greenbrier Road to State Route 74. The hunt ended at John Urban farm with no capture. Harold Richards of Batavia said he fired at the animal, claiming fear rather than intent to spoil the hunt.

County Grand Jury Returns True Bills In 2 Day Session
Clermont County grand jury met for two days and returned sixteen true bills from twenty cases. Indicted defendants include Robert Henderson for breaking and entering and Robert Rostow for breaking and entering. Other true bills named Robert Lee Clifton Frank A. Saxton Thomas Brooks William Armentrout Hubert Rogers Joseph Crawford Elmer Crisp and Wendell Garrison with charges ranging from conversion to assault with intent to kill and bigamy. Henderson admitted cashing a government check from Mrs. Traylor’s mailbox on Greenbrier Road last February. He is in the county jail.

Burglars Enter Milford Two Buildings
Burglars forced entry to the Lemming Service Station and the Pennsylvania Railroad office in Milford on Monday night. About $200 worth of tires and tubes were stolen. Three packages of canned goods were opened in the railroad office but nothing was taken. Entry to the garage and depot office was gained via broken rear windows and a broken storage cupboard lock. The depot office was entered through a window.
