Large Attendance at Clermont County Conservation Field Day
A large crowd of farmers gathered for the second annual Clermont County conservation field day at the William Blankenship farm on State Route 133. Sponsored by the Clermont County Council and USDA, the event showcased pasture development, a grasshopper dusting demo by Ohio Flying Farmers, and 4600 feet of drainage ditch work. The 4-H Clubs ran a food tent to support the 4-H camp fund.

Chile Man Fined By Mayor Flynn
Will Johnson, 47, of Route 1 Chile, was fined $120 plus costs for reckless and drunken driving in New Richmond Mayor Russell Flynn’s court on July 29. Chief Fred Holt arrested him. Walter A. Moore of Cold Grove, Ohio, was fined $104.70 for driving a truck with a 9,000 pound overweight load of steel.

Armentrout Fined and jailed in Clermont County case
Robert Armentrout age 23 of Edenton was fined 100 dollars and sentenced to 90 days in county jail for tampering with an automobile and bound over to the grand jury on breaking and entering charges. Warrant had named Armentrout with two companions, William Roslow and Herbert Rogers, who pleaded guilty and are serving similar terms. Armentrout was captured in Indiana and returned to Clermont County for trial by Sheriff Clyde Dericks and Deputy Marvin Bissants.
