Davis and Mayor William Pommert report visitors flock to a street corner near the Jaskins monument in the cemetery. The ten foot monument in the west end hosts a stone urn whose handle forms two shiny green eye-like reflections when light hits it, drawing onlookers from across the area.
The Mt Carmel Garden Club will hold a workshop for members planning to exhibit at the county fair at the home of Mrs William Jobe 573 Sonny Lane. Mrs Elmer Schoo is cohostess.
Clermont County Transit Board members plan a regular meeting at the County Fairgrounds on August 16 at 5 30 p m. Chairman Jim says the board will bring a bus to display and invites offers during the event.
Extra millage boosts funding for Felicity Franklin schools as residents vote to raise to the state set figure of 30. The measure increases taxes to support district operations and programs amid ongoing financial needs.
The West Clermont Board of Education unanimously appointed 30 year old Amelia- Charles Carpenter as head football coach at Amelia High School. Carpenter is a graduate of Loveland Hurst High School and Murray State University in Kentucky.
Bethel Village Council will hold a public hearing at 6 30 p m on August 14 in the Memorial Building to consider zoning changes related to the former school property along West Plane and North Main streets. Duane and Mrs Ferguson bought the 2.5 acre tract and an abandoned school along with a frame building to convert part of the site into parking.
Mrs. Nuckols urges Milford residents to fund a legal defense with contributions payable to the Village of Milford Village Hall at 29 Mai St. Milford. The Justice Department noted Milford has a long association spanning 40 years.
The Clermont Fair will present its show on Tuesday at 8 p m with new 4x4 four wheel drive pulls added this year on Saturday following cattle displays. 4-H boys and girls have shown strong enthusiasm throughout the event.
A special section in today's paper covers the dedication of East Fork Lake in Clermont County. The ceremony begins at 2 p.m. Saturday August 12 at Tate Beach near Bantam along State Route 125, with honors for long-time lake project promoters at Elk Lick Road site.
