Davis and Mayor William Pommert report visitors flock to a street corner near the Jaskins monument in the cemetery. The ten foot monument in the west end hosts a stone urn whose handle forms two shiny green eye-like reflections when light hits it, drawing onlookers from across the area.

Bethel council sets 6:30 p.m. hearing on school lot zoning change

Bethel Village Council will hold a public hearing at 6 30 p m on August 14 in the Memorial Building to consider zoning changes related to the former school property along West Plane and North Main streets. Duane and Mrs Ferguson bought the 2.5 acre tract and an abandoned school along with a frame building to convert part of the site into parking.
