Fran Schwiermann Named Clermont Courier Editor

Fran Schwiermann is appointed new editor of the Clermont Courier succeeding Terry Young who moves to an area daily. A Wilhiamsville resident and Amelia High School Clermont College graduate, she studied English at UC. She previously served as reporter and editor at the Clermont Sun for two years and is married to Gunter with three daughters.

Mini-Marathon in Amelia for Handicapped Kids

A 10 AM Saturday August 19 mini marathon starts at Amelia High School to aid handicapped kids in Clermont County. Entry is on race day with a four dollar fee. The Rick Rack Wheelchair benefit run aims for 500 runners, looping Amelia through Taylor Road to the airport and back to the high school. County Commissioners and Amelia Mayor William Pommert proclaim the day Rick Rack Wheelchair benefit day and a starting cannon was donated.

Senior Citizens Picnic Held by Rep Maloti in Williamsburg

State Rep. Harry C. Maloti hosts the 22nd annual Senior Citizens Picnic at his SR 32 home on Tuesday August 22. Events run from noon to 5 PM with drink, live entertainment, bingo, open bowling, and swimming for attendees.

Six filed for county judge seats and jurists in race

Six candidates filed with the county board of elections for two county court seats this November. Names include Robert P. Ringland Michael J. Voris W Kenneth Zuk Charles E Klendenin and Hugh L Nichols. The fourth county judgeship carries a salary between ten thousand and sixteen thousand dollars, with fourteen thousand paid by the state and two thousand locally. A conference committee is considering changing county court civil jurisdiction from five hundred to three thousand dollars.
