East Fork Lake to Become Ohio State Park on Aug 12

A $50 million East Fork Lake recreation and flood control project will be dedicated as a new Ohio State Park on August 12 at 2 p.m. near Tate Beach on Elk Lick Road off SR 125. Gov. James A. Rhodes and Rep. William Harsha will speak along with other sponsors. The 2,160-acre lake will offer four boat ramps, over 200 trailer parking spaces, two beaches, and about 400 campsites.

Milford Area Seeks Widening Of SR 28 Toward Milford Hills

Ohio officials plan widening of SR 28 from Service Road to Milford Hills Drive. ODOT aims to let the project in late summer or early fall with completion projected next year. Village of Milford covers 10 percent locally, ODOT funds about 90 percent inside the village. outside, ODOT bears all costs. Traffic on SR 28 is estimated at 26,400 vehicles in a 24 hour period.

Clermont County approves green financing for water works

Clermont County Commissioners authorize financing up to six point four million dollars for eight waterworks upgrades based on an amended plan by McGill and Smith. If full priority items cannot be arranged with approvals required, costs and rates may rise. James P. Garties to become sanitary engineer as acting rush retires. Reckers to oversee water and sewer under new duties.

New Richmond Village Cuts Costs on Tank Removal and Projects

Village workers saved at least 1564 by removing an underground gasoline storage tank instead of hiring bids between 2000 and 3000. Street Commissioner Lavely highlighted concrete work, park mowing, and Riverbank maintenance as ongoing projects. Police chief Kennedy announced a new patrol car delivery to aid park patrols, while CIC recommended acquiring properties at 209 Main St. and corner of Short Hill Road and High Street. council approved the union and discussed costly safety actions for buried 5000 gallon tanks. Public funding relies on CETA and county prosecutor cooperation for a sheriff sale.

Ribbons and Bonds at Clermont County Fair

The Clermont County Republican Club said two $25 U S Savings Bonds will be awarded during the Clermont County Fair from August 14 to 19. One bond will be presented on August 18 and the other on August 19. The Republicans will maintain a ongoing presence at the event.
