Case Dismissed Against Market and License Penalty

The Ohio Department of Liquor Control dismissed its case against Louis G. Pappas and Thomas Pappas of Pappas Super Market Goshen effective July 18 after their delinquent sales tax assessment was paid in full. Taitee Muay Lambray's in Loveland, got a 14 day suspension of their D-5 liquor license from Aug 26 to Sept 9 for Sunday liquor sales on May 12. A second violation involved Sunday liquor consumption on permit premises.

Carl Copenhaven, Beth el county civilian defense director, agrees to serve the balance of the year without salary or mileage. The commissioners note there is no money to pay him. Ex Batavian To Lead Harlem March On Washington

George Johnson formerly of Batavia has been named chairman of the March on Washington Committee by Gladys Harrington. He will oversee a fund to send 50 bus loads of Harlem unemployed and their families to the August 28 march to press for fair employment practices, full employment, training programs, and civil rights legislation. They will meet Congress members and later join other marchers to present demands to President Kennedy.

Clermont County Retarded School Staff Score Raises and New Hire

Employes of the Clermont County school for retarded children receive boosts from $176 to $184 monthly for welfare aides and from $240 to $252 for bus drivers. Four teachers gain $12 increases to $300 monthly, with Mildred McElroy Hilda Brock Bertie Trester and Mary Manning named. Dorothy Jean Billingsley is hired to teach a new fifth class starting in fall. Office staff will close August 16-17 during county fair week.

Mobile Blood Unit To Visit West Clermont County

The University of Cincinnati Blood Service plans a mobile unit visit in West Clermont County for one week in September from 2 to 8 p.m. It will operate at Mt. Moriah Methodist Church Fellowship Hall with seven staff members to serve Advance Deposit Blood Donor Clubs and local residents. Community groups will host and assist with arrivals, refreshments, and scheduling.

King's Heralders to Present Testimony and Song

Clermont County gains a limited cancer detection service through the American Cancer Society with ten people eligible for twice monthly checks at the Batavia office and General Hospital Cincinnati. A $3 per person fee is paid at the Batavia local unit, with no payments at the hospital.

Clermont County League of Women Voters Reorganizes

The Clermont County League of Women Voters held an organization meeting on Aug 1 at Mrs. William Fay’s home. Officers for 1963 64 are President Mrs Ralph D Hawkins 1st Vice President Charles Smith 2nd Vice President E W Lukie Treasurer Randall McFarland and Secretary Frank Roberts.
