Clermont County Fair Parade Plans Set for August 14
Owensville Fire Department will sponsor the county parade on August 14 at 2 p.m. Entries are judged in seven categories with units lining up at Owensville Elementary School. Registration opens August 14 at 10 a.m. The parade proceeds from SR 132 to US 50 through downtown Owensville to the Goshen gate then to the fairgrounds.

Picketers halt work at Zimmer Plant
Picketing by surveyors at the William Zimmer nuclear power station construction project forced a shutdown by Cincinnati Gas & Electric Co and two other utilities. The $500 million plant will remain closed indefinitely after a 4 p.m. Tuesday halt. Additionally a county fair pig show was canceled due to Augesky’s Disease concerns and department rules, with hogs to be slaughtered rather than returned to farms.
