Ohio Bureau of Employment Services reports 3126 job seekers out of a 39925 labor force in Clermont County for June, an 7.8 percent unemployment rate up from May's 7.2 percent. Most workers commute out of the county, and wages for June ranged from 2.30 to 4.75 dollars across skill levels.
Congressman Harsha announced a $461061 Corps of Engineers contract for a fishermen access facility at East Fork Lake awarded to Clinton County Asphalt Pavement in Wilmington. Clermont County Judge Russell Speidel 40 resigns after being charged with illegally obtaining a cough medicine containing the Schedule 4 drug Cheracol. He faces arraignment in Clermont County Common Pleas Court before Judge Louis Schwartz. Speidel was elected in November and has held prior public roles in Batavia and Clermont County. A successor will be named by Governor Rhodes.
