The Greater Cincinnati Hospital Council will assist Clermont County Mecical Society with reports for a local hospital drive. A federal Hill Burton grant of 800000 is sought. a 1800 million bond and a 200000 levy could fund a 100 bed hospital if approved and grant obtained.

Batavia appoints Kenneth H. Jones as new executive head

Kenneth H. Jones 39 of Cincinnati is named executive head of Batavia schools with a July 1 start date. He succeeds Paul Hopping, selected from 15 applicants, and has a background as a music educator and administrator including roles in Ludlow Ky and Colerain Township. Jones is a Marine Corps veteran with degrees from Cincinnati College of Music Miami University and additional graduate work at Xavier and UC. He and his wife Betty plan to move to Batavia after signing the contract.

Red Cross Names Flood Committee for Clermont County

Edgar H. Lotspeich announced an 11 member advisory panel drawn from Clermont county residents to review Red Cross family assistance plans for flood victims. The group will ensure plans meet community standards and relay community perspectives to disaster staff as about 2,600 families seek aid, including 500 from Clermont and 1,000 from Kentucky.
