Thousands from across the state attended the dedicatory services for the Grant Memorial Building at Bethel. The project funded by local efforts and a congressional act raised $13,000 for the brick building with an auditorium and library. The day featured a high school service, a noon dinner for 1000, and a formal program led by Hon. A. Brannock and Judge Hugh L. Nichols. Burial notice for Mrs. Stella May Cramer follows, aged 85.

40 and 8 Society County Field Meet at Batavia Armory
The 40 and 8 Society plans an initiation at the Batavia Armory on Saturday May 3 as Harlow Fox, Chef de Gare, expects a large class. The State convention will be in Cincinnati next August with the American Legion, marking Clermont county’s final initiation before the convention. The event at Owensville Fair Grounds on Friday May 2 will include all county schools in field events and a profitable program in the afternoon if weather cooperates.

Violators fined for spearing and unlicensed fishing
Last week seven Clermonters were caught spearing fish in White Oak Creek. Five, Ladder and Wm Wainscott and John Wainscott, were fined 25 dollars plus costs. A party of three including Noble Holton and William Holton and M O Jett were fined 25 dollars and costs for fishing without a license. Sal Watson of Greenbush also fined 25 dollars and costs. Accident Record Shows March Claims Dip From February
March saw 17,298 industrial accident and occupational disease claims filed with the Industrial Commission, down from 16,881 in February on a per working day basis. Fatalities were 98, four fewer than February and 18 fewer than January, with time loss reaching 835,207 days. Clermont county reported 17 accidents, including one fatality and six with time lost over seven days, totaling 6,185 days lost. February in the county had 18 accidents, no fatalities and 862 days lost.

Auditor Named to Clinton County post in Ohio
Alfred Osborn has been appointed Clinton county auditor, replacing Harry Q. Gaskill who resigned before his trial in Common Pleas Court. Gaskill is jailed in the Ohio penitentiary serving a two to ten year term for accepting commissions on county materials. Osborn, previously deputy auditor under Gaskill for four years, assumes the office.

New State Map Issued With Officials Directory
Secretary Brown offers a 271 page book listing all Federal State and County officials to those who request it. The 1930 road map from the Highway Department includes an airport directory with city ports field names class and location. The map marks 400 miles of county roads recently added to the state system and is available free through this newspaper.

Easter Sunday at United Brethren Church

A concert by the Oakley Mothers Club at New Richmond School Auditorium on May 9 will raise money for the Point Pleasant church rebuilding fund.
