Clermont County 4 H Club Executive Committee met in Batavia to map the year. They discussed forming a Junior Fair Board with rural youth and planned activities including Coney Island Day club camps health demonstrations a style show fair booth and parade contests. Last year 689 youths belonged to 52 clubs and organizers expect growth.
The first rehearsal of the County Grange Chorus will be held Monday May 8 at 8 pm in the music room of Batavia school building. Any Granger interested in singing is urged to attend and at least three representatives from each grange should be present. Please bring a sacred song book. Louise Rogers Pomona Lecturer.
Mrs. Dallas Tarvin a Galley Hill native, wife of a local resident, died by suicide in the cellar of her Penintown home on Wednesday morning. Dr. Allen B. Rapp and Coroner Sam White attended. she leaves a son Elmer 17 and many relatives. Funeral at St Philomena Church Stovelick with Rev Stuhlmuller.
Clermont County American Legion County Council hosts an entertainment for World War veterans and families at Batavia Armory on Tuesday May 4 at 8 p m. Official U S and German World War films will show, including German U Boat commander footage. Light refreshments follow and radio entertainer Jackie McClure performs. No charge. arrive early to start on time.
A Batavia gathering at Mrs Lucy Titus home brings together Hulick Lytle and Titus families to greet Mr and Mrs George Preston of San Diego en route to England for the Coronation. Preston is tied to the San Diego Union and Evening Tribune. Mrs Preston is daughter of Walter Hulick and niece of Lucy Titus. About forty guests attended as the Prestons plan a Britannia voyage then to the Acquitania, absent roughly three months.
The Department of Agriculture assigns Dr. Jas Noeller to Clermont County to enforce licensing of live stock dealers. Many complaints have been registered. An application for a license can be obtained from the State Veterinarian in Columbus, Ohio. No fee is charged for the license.
Cattle owners in Tate and Franklin Townships will meet on April 29 and April 30 at Bethel Grant Memorial and Felicity School House to decide on sponsoring a Bang's disease eradication campaign. Dr. A J DeFosset, federal veterinarian, will explain the program. Goshen Township already voted to sponsor and tests show about 2 percent infection rate.
On Thursday evening April 29 at 8 15 the Manouk Temple committee of Milford presents a three act comedy titled More Power to You at the school auditorium.
A field and track meet will be held at the Amelia school ground on Saturday May 15 starting at 8345 am. Thirty one events are planned for girls and boys in grades five through eight with nine county schools entered Owensville Amelia Mt Carmel Pierce Consolidated Branch Hill Franklin Pt Isabel Glen Erie Pennante. First and second place teams earn ribbons while individual winners receive ribbons. A championship baseball game will be played between two teams with the best records. Sponsor is Stanley Austaett of Amelia school.
All men in Cler mont county are invited to an organization meeting of the Men’s Bible Class Association at the Church of Christ in Bethel next Thursday night May 6 at 8 o’clock. The event is church‑affiliation agnostic and a large attendance is expected with Mr Guy Leavitt, ex president of the National Federation of Men’s Bible Classes, to deliver a keynote message.

Report of apple trees in full bloom at Day fruit farm near Mt Carmel with blossoms praised as equal to cherry blossoms. The event invites the public to view the display starting in April and lasting about a week.

New York reports that the American farmer now appears crucial to industry as a steel customer. A study by farm authorities estimates a 150 acre grain and dairy farm would require about 40 000 pounds of steel for fencing implements and dairy gear. It outlines tractors plows binders harvesters and tools totaling thousands of pounds of steel for a single well equipped operation.
May First is proclaimed National Child Health Day by Congress and the President. Edwin C. Hill cites a nationwide drive to protect every child’s health, with Mrs. Henry Breckinridge noted for initiating the idea through the American Child Health Association. Master May Day programs will originate in New York and Hollywood with support from CBS and other national figures.

Instrumental numbers were presented by Felicity Franklin School music students at the Clermont County Teachers Association meeting in Batavia Host School Auditorium last Saturday. The program opened with a short talk on the composers' lives. Performances included a violin solo Cradle Song by Schumann Vernon Shaw with his mother Mrs Shaw on piano, a clarinet duet Fleurice by Atherton Janet Speidel and Baxcllle Gregg with Mrs Shaw on piano, a Melody in F by Rubens Stein performed by Frances McKinnelly and Agnes Wallace with instructor Miss Gertrude Stein present.
The Chatterbox Sewing Club met at Marige Morrow's home on April 24 in New Tonsville. Members received club pins, played games, and had refreshments. The group adjourned to May 8 to meet again at Ruth Williams's home where she leads the club.
The Edenton Willing Workers 4281 Club met at Mrs. Charleston’s home with Veera members present and two new members taken in. The group set the next meetings for May 27.
