Beautiful wedding ties Milford couple to Batavia family

A Saturday 6:30 pm ceremony at Mrs. Belle Kennedy’s Main Street home united Blanche K. Buvinger of Batavia and Henry A Hodges of Milford. The Rev. Lavender and Rev. Burdsall led the service. A luncheon followed, with guests from Linwood Hyde Park Walnut Hills and Milford among others. The couple plans a home near Milford before a New York tour and a later residence in Pre mont.

Mutual Life Insurance reports 1911 receipts and dividends

W G Fagin of Amelia to split time between Cincinnati and Clermont county for Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York. The firm paid policyholders 1911 dividends and receipts totals, with large 1912 apportions and a Cincinnati office at 616 Union Trust Building. The company has strong county representation among policyholders and aims to expand locally. The People's Liniment advertised as an internal and external remedy.

Sunday Evening M E Church Service Draws Large Crowd

The M E church filled to capacity last Sunday as Louis Hicks and Edwin C Ely class members led a program with flower gifts from Monroe Wiseman. Clyde Lindsey sang The Holy City and Bess Walker sang Jesus Lover of My Soul. Ely presented Sunday school lessons. Monroe Wiseman and Mrs Walter Kain contributed readings. Wasner and Riley sponsored the stereoscopic views. The campaign of meetings is deemed very successful.

Evening of Pleasure at Batavia Odd Fellows hall

A four act comedy The Village Postmaster will be staged at Batavia town hall Bridgewater New Hampshire next Saturday afternoon for the I O O F anniversary celebration. Cast includes Seth Huggins Doris Kain Samantha Huggins and others with the Buerkle Band providing music. Admission 15 and 26 cents. Plat open at Nash pharmacy.

State funds to aid Clermont County road work

Clermont county will receive about $6000 from the State road fund for repair reconstruction and building free prizes within the county. State pays 25 percent for repairs and 60 percent for reconstruction and new building with county 75 and 25 respectively and township 15 and property holders 10 percent. Citizens urged to consult commissioners to secure part of this State aid for roads this year.

Readvertised Batavia Armory bids set for May 28

No bids were received previously. The Batavia State Armory project, once priced above 18500 dollars, is being readvertised with alterations to bring the contract cost within the appropriation. Bids will open May 28.

Visitor Dr Brown Tours Batavia Amid Congressional Hopes

Highland county candidate Dr Brown visited Batavia to meet local youths and gauge support ahead of the May 1 primary. A Constitutional Convention member, he is described as a strong, poor man. The Sixth district shows many Congressional hopefuls. Patterson exam drew 223 pupils on Saturday.

Ill Health Cited in Felicity Man’s Self-Inflicted Death

In Felicity, Lafay ette Coffman, about 45, killed himself with a shotgun in the dining room last Thursday around 6 am after a period of ill health. He left a widow and five children and had a well stocked farm. burial took place in Felicity on Saturday.

Time Up and Petitions Filed for May 21 Primary

Time for filing nomination papers ended. Republicans and Democrats filed petitions for every office on the May 21 primary ballot. The piece urges voters to select capable nominees, claims party harmony, and calls for a change in Clermont politics with a GOP victory.

Workmen completed tearing down the Batavia Masonic building Monday. Old brick will be used as fillers and refuse hauled on the creek road to raise the site. Buyers are plentiful for all material not needed in the new structure. Thomas Clancy supervises the project.

The Anniversary Association of Hill District lodges Batavia Williamsburg Marathon Edenton Newtonsville Goshen Milford and Owensville gather in Batavia next Saturday April 27 to celebrate the 98th anniversary of the first Odd Fellows lodge in America. Beautiful wedding at Danville Illinois last Wednesday evening for the Juergens Wolf couple. About 70 guests attended including a Batavia lady. Emma Reichel served as bridesmaid. Decorations were praised and a wedding supper followed. The couple planned to move into a newly furnished cottage after their honeymoon.
