Hamilton Building Opens For Public Inspection
A new brick Hamilton Building on the site of the old Hamilton House opened last Saturday night. The two story corner structure houses businesses on the first floor and club rooms law offices and a printing office on the second. Visitors viewed ornate woodwork lighted halls and rugs with a carnation for ladies and cigars for gentlemen. punch was served. Shops like Smyth Bros Nash’s Pharmacy and the post office displayed decor and crowds toured during the day and evening. The Batavia orchestra performed and the building will be known as the Hamilton Building.
