Clermont county tax collections for the period ending June 20, 1942 were about 5 percent under projections. First half 1942 totals reached $194,104 with advance payments lifting March 6 figures to $205,026 and delinquent payments adding $15,860. Overall, $221,468 was collected, with Milford New Richmond and Loveland reporting the highest delinquencies. Reasons cited include high income taxes and many landowners serving in the armed forces.

All eating places must file with the Board a signed menu or price list for the week April 4 to April 10, 1948. Prioprietors must sign and mail or bring copies to the Board by May. OPA can curb price increases and may impose local price freezes if prices are abnormally high or quality is degraded.
Amendment tightens mileage rationing for seasonal homes
Under a new amendment to the mileage rationing regulation very few people will qualify for extra gasoline for travel to summer residences. The rule states that unless a job requires living at a temporary or seasonal home a board will not permit more occupational mileage than what would be allowed if the person lived at his usual home and lodging. The amendment takes effect immediately.

Mrs. Harley Brown of Batavia learned Friday evening that her brother Leslie Cochran of Blanchester had died. District liquor sales shift to district system in Ohio

John Harris Dies Aged 64 In Dayton Home
John Mickey Harris 64 died at his Dayton home on Monday. A Stockton England native, he worked at Wright Field for 21 years. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon with burial in Dayton. Harris often visited Batavia. his wife was Ruth Crane’s granddaughter.
