Court allows Bissantz candidacy after expungement ruling

In Adams County, Bissantz cleared to run as Republican candidate for Sadie after District Court of Appeals ruled it lacked jurisdiction in appealing Judge Love's Feb. 17 expungement order. Officials oppose LaRosa's liquor permit in Rendezvous court

Clermont County commissioners and Union Township officials object to LaRosa's request for D-1 and D-2 liquor permits for on premise or carryout in the Rendezvous food court at Biggs Place. Union Township trustees voted unanimously to object citing potential enforcement issues and competition in open court areas. Police Chief adds concern that permit may spur other food court tenants to seek liquor licenses.

Baker to do time for murder in Ohio shed shooting

Baker Steven A., 23, of Day Heights, has been sentenced to 16 years to life in the Ohio State Penitentiary for the murder of David Condelles, 23, of Orchard Lake. Judge John L. Watson ordered the sentence after a two hour jury verdict. Prosecutors expect a minimum 18 years before parole. Baker shot Condelles on November 16 following a shed dispute outside Baker's home.

Grant Tablet Dedication Marks Birthplace in 1907 Ceremony

A fragmentary early 20th century report describes a plaque dedication at Ulysses S. Grant birthplace site in Pt Pleasant Monroe Township. It notes Governor Andrew L Harris’s 1907 ceremony and cites Harding’s 1922 attendance at the bridge dedication, with inscribed plaque text honoring Grant born April 27, 1822.
